The title track on Monty Lane Allen's debut album, Great Big World, brings to life the character of this South Carolina native and showcases a multi-talented singer, songwriter and performer.  Monty Lane, who wrote or co- wrote the majority of the songs on his debut, draws inspiration from a wellspring of love for his wife and two beautiful daughters, illustrating his world of family and faith.  Recording an album of his own, currently scheduled for a June 2007 release, marks the beginning of a new chapter in Monty Lane's life -- the small town boy with big city talent takes a new road on his musical journey into the Great Big World.

Raised in rural South Carolina, during a time when the world turned a little more slowly, Monty Lane's love of music and the values which he stands for today were both instilled in him at an early age.   After learning how to play guitar and sing sitting around the table with his family, Monty Lane performed on a stage for the first time at the tender age of eight.  The folks in his hometown still talk about that little kid with the borrowed guitar and the big music that he made!   Following college, Monty Lane moved to Nashville to pursue the dream that began on the day he performed on the old school gym stage.

Today, Monty Lane is one of Nashville's leading vocalists and also one of the best kept secrets on Music Row.  His unmistakable voice has appeared on numerous albums, including the works of several GRAMMY Award winning songwriters and recording artists.  A genuine appreciation for his craft shows through in Monty Lane's work -- whether he is writing or performing -- the love of what he does for a living is always apparent.  In addition to the creative time spent in the studio writing and recording, Monty Lane has also honed his live performance skills on the road, touring with Alan Jackson and the Strayhorns for the past five years.
